Tony Peyronel is the center’s executive director. Peyronel has more than 12 years of experience as a chairperson for multiple departments at Edinboro. A former journalist, public relations writer and communications director at colleges and universities, he is also a founding board member and past president of the NWPA chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). He also serves on the board of Ignite Erie.
Founding Creative Director
Brigette Davitt is the center’s founding creative director. Davitt is a Pittsburgh-based graphic designer who has been instrumental in the development of the center and has taught graphic/interactive design at Edinboro for more than 10 years. Davitt has also taught the Graphic Design Summer Art Workshop at Temple University Japan (Tokyo), and as an adjunct professor at Temple’s Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia and at Point Park University in Pittsburgh. Although currently on leave from the university, she remains in close contact with the center’s current leadership.
Graphic & Interactive Design Instructor
Cassandra Reese is an instructor of interactive & graphic design in the Art Department at Edinboro and has taught as an adjunct instructor of graphic design at Kent State University. Reese previously worked as a web designer at BENSUR Creative Marketing Group in Erie. Recent projects include graphic design research with NASA and personal design research rooted in motion and mindful design.
Scott Gladd is a freelance graphic designer with over a decade of experience in brand development. He also serves as the creative director for Erie Apparel, overseeing the design of online and in-store merchandise.
Social Media Specialist | Podcasting
Chris Lantinen teaches courses in digital media design and writing in the Department of Communication, Journalism and Media at Edinboro, where he also advises the campus newspaper and oversees the campus media web site EdinboroNow. Lantinen worked as reporter and editor at the Titusville Herald, hosts music criticism podcast Stereo Confidential, and works with Atlantic Records in their podcast initiative.
Jim Wertz is currently associate dean of the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences at Edinboro University. He previously served as a faculty member in the Department of Communication, Journalism and Media, where he taught courses in digital media production and advised ETV, the university’s student television operation. He is active in the Erie community, serving on a number of community boards and advisory committees, and he is the Chairman of the Erie County Democratic Party. He assists the center by providing consulting services in multiple areas, especially video production.
Ron Raymond has more than 30 years of professional experience in the radio industry, working on air and as a manager for stations in Florida and Pennsylvania. He serves as faculty advisor to WFSE-FM, Edinboro University’s campus radio station, and as business manager for all three of the university’s campus media organizations. He assists the center by consulting in audio production and providing professional voiceovers for much of our work.
Bill Berger is director of marketing and brand identity at Edinboro University. He possesses more than 25 years of experience in marketing, graphic design, branding, advertising and communication, including more than 20 years at BENSUR Creative Marketing Group in Erie.
Joelyn Bush is marketing and communications director with United Way of Erie County. She previously held professional positions at the Erie Regional Chamber & Growth Partnership and the Erie Community Foundation. Bush also serves as a frequent presenter at The Nonprofit Partnership.
Marissa Orbanek is communications specialist for the General McLane School District, where her responsibilities include media relations, community relations, publication development, and managing the district’s web page and social media content. She also serves as head coach of the McDowell Girls Lacrosse team.
Matthew Cummings is manager of public relations and social media at Erie Insurance and teaches in the Integrated Marketing Communication Program at West Virginia University, where he previously served as assistant director of online programs. Cumming’s career includes more than 15 years of marketing, advertising, communications and public relations experience.
Steve Orbanek is marketing communications coordinator at Penn State Behrend, where he manages social media, assists with media relations, produces marketing materials, and writes stories for the university’s various marketing communication channels. He previously worked as a copy editor/page designer for the Erie Times-News, and continues to freelance for the paper.
